Oddly I don't welcome the huge swing to Labour in the UK by-elections, I think at a general election it would not be good for the country.
I'm old enough to remember Tony Blair. Starmer is Blair sans charisma, and I struggle to see his Labour as anything but an imitation of the Conservatives. Plus he panders to TERFs.
If Starmer becomes PM I want him to worry about his electorate, and have a modest majority. Otherwise like all the others he'll get to thinking he owns it.

The usual argument, but our 2 party unrepresentative FPTP system is producing a grim polity where we shift further and further to the right. I can no longer support that. Nothing will fundamentally progress without PR, and Starmer has made it clear that will not happen under his leadership. #getPRdone #ukpolitics

They all won faux majorities on a minority of votes, gifted by the disproportionate results of our archaic #FPTP voting system.

With you. Single Transferable Vote is a proportional representation system that gives everyone a strong vote, not just a fair vote.
When we #GetPRDone we need to keep the constituency link AND abolish safe seats. Ranked voting let's us decide who will be in government, who we prefer in opposition and lets us cast a party we hate into outer darkness.
