Day 5
A visually beautiful 2025 drama
Shine - This one was astoundingly beautiful.
Gelboys - I found this one very visually interesting; it was an element I repeatedly mentioned whenever I talked about the drama.
Memoir of Rati - I really liked the visuals... it was so pretty.
I wanted to provide screenshots, but I just started rewatching them instead 🫠

Day 4
Favorite original song from a 2025 drama
This one is hard because my way of connecting with many things is through music, and dramas are not an exception. That said, I’m gonna include a small playlist just because I can 😌
The whole Shine OST, with special mention to:

I enjoyed this well crafted show. The colors, music, and texture of life, all in camera (!) are impressive and effective.
If I'm going to be picky, Boss Kuno loves to watch actors cry. But, like anything, too much of any one thing and that thing starts to lose its effectiveness.
I think there is a spectacularly good 2 hour movie to be made out of this 7 part series.

CW: Gelboys
This show is really gorgeous. There is aggressive color grading, but also a lot of in-camera color work. There's no ham-fisted exposition; you're dropped right into the story. Both leads almost always share the frame. There's so much texture of life, from the BTS Skytrain to Spotify playlists. The electronic soundtrack feels tightly integrated.
I enjoy many shows that are not nearly as beautifully crafted.
