  1. @arstechnica Let’s not forget that Discovery killed the online streaming of the Global Cycling Network just over a week ago to consolidate streaming platforms.

But GCN+, with its global race streaming of all things cycling AND brilliant specials & documentaries that were available and much loved, itself turned a profit.

The big companies have turned online streaming into cable TV again, and a new age of piracy is the only thing that will result from this all. #BikeTooter #Streaming #GCNPlus

  2. @oztalks I’m one of the fortunate few, it seems. I have an online Eurosport subscription which continues to be available, but not to new subscribers. I hope it lasts. Discovery Plus seems to be the only option in the UK for those that have lost #GCNPlus. Good luck with figuring out your coverage.

  3. So after doing a bit of digging it does look like (in the UK, at least) Discovery+ provides the same cycle racing content as GCN+, including cyclo-cross coverage. It's just a shame that you are paying for a whole bunch of other content...

  4. I would love for the dipshits at Warner Brothers/Discovery+ to explain how shutting down a successful service that LOTS of people pay for is a good move. Explain it to me like I’m 5.

The statement “The media landscape has changed.” is such a nothing, business-douchebag sentence.

Gutted for the people at GCN+ because their race coverage was unparalleled. It will be missed.

  5. Goodbye #gcnplus, it was a pleasure. Need to decide on another service till #parisroubaix, guess that´s time enough. @mastobikes

  6. Really impressed that (on #gcnplus at least) they are mixing the para-World Champs with the World Champs. It’s very inspiring to see someone with one leg blitzing a track sprint. #glasgowscotland2023 #cycling #BikeTooter
