Today is #FroGSConf and I’m thinking I need to facilitate a session of career transforming insights. I love the open space format and how this particular crowd is so open to whatever is right. When exceptional people like Sanne Visser, Elizabeth Zagroba and Joep Schuurkes co-facilitate, I’m first in line to be included.

Can only endorse this wholeheartedly! The #FroGSConf events I've been to were awesome for having insightful conversations and making valuable and lasting new connections. They also helped me further in tangible ways and offered a welcoming space to try things out and learn together. Still sad for any instance I missed in the past, and continuously hopeful to make it to the next event! 🐸 -

It's coming up, and I can't wait: #FroGSConf. A week from now, Saturday. The place we buy the #FroGSConf stickers from is making my gender a required field on the order form.
Currently accepting outlandish reasons why this would be necessary.
(If I weren't such a #BugMagnet I would have selected man just to see how they'd address me in the email with the proof.)

There was a question at the #FrogsConf #leanCoffee on which good books about leadership and management exist that are not written with a male view only (like The Phoenix Project, or Turn The Ship Around). Both books are arguably good.
Looking at some if my reads, there is definitely great work by Mary Poppendieck (The Lean Mindset: Ask the Right Questions), and "An Everyone Culture: Becoming a Deliberately Developmental Organization" which takes a more diverse look at organization.

At #FroGSconf one of the conversation topics was the difficulty of inserting testers where they do good - on-time conversations, listening in and contributing to design, connecting perspectives. The observation was, again, that same good work is allowed and expected when you don't change work or person, but change the person's title.
I keep wondering if the people showing up to these spaces recognize what average tester output is in the projects. Not all testers...
