  1. Seems it has decided that it no longer wants to talk to the LNB. Plugged the co-ax into the satellite input on the TV. Perfect picture straight away.

Never buy the official #Freesat box. It's been a pain in the arse from new one way or another. Sadly the only competition they had in the UK, Humax, has left the market. Which I suppose is how they get away with selling a crap product for premium money.

  2. It's been five minutes now. Fucking #Freesat box of shit 😠

  3. Someone at ideal35.fr/ asked how to watch British TV because the options on Orange were terrible.

I live close enough to use and run my own VPN, so I don't use anyone else's services to do this.

I just wondered which DNS or VPN providers sell an endpoint in the UK which isn't constantly blocked by the UK TV companies.

  4. Anyone else in the UK having problems with FreeSat tonight?

And by 'problems' I mean no signal?

    #FreeSat #NoSignal #FreeSatDown

    Bummer.

  5. @Wigwam12 It just does it randomly, it's the sort of quality equipment born of having a monopoly, utter crap.

  6. Just a moan about tech. We bought a new TV (Samsung) at the weekend, and linking it up was easy both for free catchup services (BBC iPlayer etc) and our two paid-for services. Nice picture.
But, it was weirdly difficult to find how to switch between Freesat and Freeview inputs.
Is the best answer a conspiracy theory; or, is switching between aerial/dish inputs a really very unusual British ask??
(Only the Samsung smart handset can do the switch AFAIK. )

  7. Oh joy, the #Freesat box has had a software update overnight. It hasn’t added any new functionality but has completely changed the user interface 🙄

  8. There's an old satellite dish attached to the side wall. I traced the coax into the house and discovered it has been cut.
I can consider myself as being deprived of .

How do I attach coax connector to this end so that I can try hooking up a receiver?

  9. Randomly scanning and spotted the original Battlestar Galactica was on, series 1, episode 1. Not seen it in decades.

The production quality isn't as good as the remake, but in many respects it's more fun and better.

  10. @le_friwi_56 I now have a box, so over 200 channels of free to view British TV and radio, and almost nothing interesting to watch. I probably watch about 1 hour of TV per day, many days none and some days a bit more.

  11. Digital UK, the organisation that runs Freeview and Freesat, rebrands as "Everyone TV". I'm not sure that's an improvement... #tv #freeview #freesat

  12. Decided to finally remove the #Freesat #satelliteTV box and #bluray player, both being added to the "obsolete" AV equipment pile that I can't quite part with! Neither have been used for probably a year now.

Sign of the times - TV is primarily on-demand, with the remaining bit of #Freeview streamed via #Emby which also handles Blu-rays, DVDs, and music. Saying that, I might think about an OTA aerial feed direct to the TV, just in case!
