My TV has gone bonkers.
At least I think it's the TV rather than the aerial.
I'm not receiving some of the channels from the East Midlands Waltham transmitter.
I am getting good reception on channels 29, 34 & 35 but nothing from 31, 32 or 37
The various checking sites say there's no reported problems (and I'm not sure which of my neighbours still use terrestrial TV )It's a good job I've got Freesat and a Roku thingy, and, that we rarely watch the idiot box on Sundays.

In all seriousness this is very irritating. I sort my channels alphabetically and so now "Dave" begins with a "U" so I never notice it right at the end of the listing.
In other news, why the actual fuck are we being infested with these vile American religious channels on Freeview all of a sudden.

Just read about Freely, the supposed future of Freeview, the free to air (via an aerial) live TV service in the UK. Freely will be IP based so live TV and on demand via broadband. Live TV still seems a slightly odd concept in this context (but it will be just that) and an aerial or satellite dish (for Freesat) currently comes with no other costs other than a TV licence whereas fast broadband costs extra and is variable depending on location.

Just a moan about tech. We bought a new TV (Samsung) at the weekend, and linking it up was easy both for free catchup services (BBC iPlayer etc) and our two paid-for services. Nice picture.
But, it was weirdly difficult to find how to switch between Freesat and Freeview inputs.
Is the best answer a conspiracy theory; or, is switching between aerial/dish inputs a really very unusual British ask??
(Only the Samsung smart handset can do the switch AFAIK. )

Any #Freeview viewers in the West of Scotland (#Blackhill Transmitter) having issues with U&Drama channel blanking out momentarily periodically. Did notice the channel Logo was visible the last time when it did it.

I found what looks like the coax connection to the TV aerial on the roof. It was hidden away inside a bedroom closet. Might be able to pick up a few #FreeView channels. Is there anything on that's worth watching live?
There's also the remnants of a #Cat5 ethernet cable embedded in a hole in the wall.

I just stumbled across the fact that #BBC HD Channels are now HD:SD Swapped on supported #FreeviewPlay devices by noticing that my #LGC2 had done it, offering me #BBCOne HD on LCN1 as well as the usual LCN101. Decided to finally remove the #Freesat #satelliteTV box and #bluray player, both being added to the "obsolete" AV equipment pile that I can't quite part with! Neither have been used for probably a year now.
Sign of the times - TV is primarily on-demand, with the remaining bit of #Freeview streamed via #Emby which also handles Blu-rays, DVDs, and music. Saying that, I might think about an OTA aerial feed direct to the TV, just in case!

I feel like I need to rant on how awful the Google Live Channels app is, but there's no good free alternative.
First of all, audio doesn't always work on Live TV.
Secondly, I shouldn't have to manually enable channels, for example (likely due to Freeview Play) all my channels get disabled on every reboot. There's really no reason to disable new channels.
My main issue is definitely the channel sources menu though.. (1/3)
