Purported “clear” messaging just means parroting talking-points that are easily recognizable through familiarity. Such clear messaging can obscure rather than reveal realities. It means that there is no sensitivity left over for the intelligence of irony, parody, and reflective distance. Reality is complicated. Many honest people don’t have their minds made up in advance about all matters. There is not a simple us vs. them dichotomy anywhere but in the maths of plebiscite. Consider, for example, that Lincoln was a Republican. Parties change. People change. All is in flux. Some people might accuse one of disloyalty when voting your conscience. But there is no way to regulate sincerity. This is why the parallel language of Freemasonry exceeds at passive aggressive behavior and unaccountability.
