The Folk Implosion from the other night was really fun. For the first time in however many years recording music I managed to not plug in one of my mics, but at least I recorded something. Anyway I wish I could come up with weird bass lines like that.

Merci de les avoir citer, ça m'a fait chaud au coeur 😊mais... j'adore aussi #DinosaurJr (même sans Lou Barlow) et Jay Mascis en solo, alors pourquoi pas toi ? Dinosaur Jr, “Quest” from Dinosaur, 1985#DinosaurJr was a seminal band in the burgeoning #alternative scene, not in the spiky clubs in Boston, but out in the woods in #WesternMass.
On their debut eponymous album (their original name was Dinosaur; they had to change it after legal action by the group Dinosaurs), the music was less polished, less precise, dare I say, grungier than the #PostPunk and uptempo #NewWave flooding commercial airwaves.
There’s something very #NeilYoung about their sound, and this song in particular, and about #JMascis, the driving force of Dinosaur Jr, himself, in sound and in uncompromising attitude. #LouBarlow from the original lineup went on to form #Sebadoh, then #FolkImplosion, but indirectly, Dinosaur Jr.'s influence was far wider, launching an undercurrent of #LoFi #indie music.
