- You can now add a Mastodon profile widget to the blog.
- I’ve also taken the GDPR into account. When a visitor submits a comment, they can choose via an opt-in option whether their comment appears only on the #FlatPress -blog or is also posted to the #Fediverse as a #Mastodon reply.
- Synchronization of comments and replies can be optionally disabled.
You can find all the new features and changes in the changelog.

I seriously considered going with #FlatPress for my blogging resurrection, but really didn't want to fiddly with another software installation. And my host server was locking me out for an RSS extension, apparently. Fortunately, #Pagecord was getting read to offer a second blog for the Premium account, so that was the win.

My blog runs on the latest Flatpress version. In these days I wrote my 1st plugin that uses the Select2 project to enbable searchable dropdowns in the admin backend.

Das Mastodon-Plugin für @flatpress erst einmal abgeschaltet. Es synchronisiert mir zu viel. Solange man hier nicht genau differenzieren kann, was und in welche Richtung synchroniert werden soll, lasse ich es erst einmal abgeschaltet.
Aber FlatPress an sich find ich cool! #FlatPress

As some of you may have noticed, I’m working on a Mastodon plugin that acts as a Fediverse bridge. I’ve already implemented the plugin on my blog. However, FlatPress’s request-based operating model has some serious limitations.

There are currently 64 community themes. Some of them have been around for 15 years. However, many themes haven’t been maintained for a long time and some don’t work properly with the current #FlatPress CMS.
Take a closer look at the themes and give them a try.

We just published a bugfix release for #FlatPress 1.5 “Stringendo”.
It fixes a nasty bug in the PrettyURLs plugin that occured with some fresh installations. Also, we fixed a little bug in the BBCode plugin.

I’ve added a dark mode to the “Stringendo” style. If a blog visitor has selected a light theme in their browser or operating system, they’ll see the light version of the style. If they’ve selected a dark theme, they’ll see the dark version of the Stringendo style.
