## The Mysterious Air Pirates issue 2

I've been writing a serial set in the same basic universe as Skies of Tomorrow, but featuring (a modified to my liking version of) the crew from #filibus (the 1915 Italian Silent film about the genderfluid bisexual skypirate. (I say bisexual every time I talk about the series, because that's how I read the portrayal. I might be projecting. I'm writing my Filibus as a bisexual genderfluid person.) )

Issue one is out for sale now through various platforms.

Issue two is outlined and partially written. I have more writing to do, editing and polishing, layout, and I have to find or produce or commission a cover for the second issue (which might be the hardest part!)

I recommend against re-releasing or remixing the above copy if you're worried about copyright infringement, as that one uses a new translation and new inter-titles which are probably under copyright. The original english titles are lost, afaik.

I'm working on a new new translation ( https://communitymedia.video/w/nYaqWnn34d57auvQeSE6TY ) with cc-by-sa intertitles and a new score, but it isn't ready yet.

That's one of the projects I want to pick back up in the near future.

Regardless, #filibus is a #feminist #skypirate film full of #airship shenanigans and #queer #romance #revolutionaryJoy. It's also 100 years old, and it was the inspiration for our #skypirates playset.

Anyway, if you're looking for some #revolutionaryJoy,

Sundog and I have built a whole universe of skypirates. We have action figures, we have an in universe newspaper, we have dossiers on pirates that have not been produced yet.

We have plans for video games (and I thought of a method for building a second today that ... well it's almost too good not to do. If I don't forget, I've probably nerdsniped myself in to it) and I have half a board game finished that I'll revisit soon.

We have 100+ year old movies, including #filibus, which you must see if you haven't. It's an absolute delight.

And we're going to make many more things. Maybe more videos, maybe comic books, maybe a short story collection, or even a pulp novel?

Alright, talking about #revolutionaryJoy and #skypirates has me back at #filibus and maybe #gbstudio (sorry for all the hashtags, I want to find this later and I'm too stubborn to install elastisearch.)

I've been toying around with the idea of making a Skypirates video game.

I have some ideas and I keep coming back to a couple of different styles but what I really don't have is the time to develop a game right now.

So

This is what I'm thinking:

- I'm going to write the outline for a Skypirates visual novel
- I'm going to come up with a list of characters, poses, and backgrounds (for graphics, which I am no good at, so I'll have to commission them)
- I'll either whack it up in renpy or find a collaborator or a contract to build the thing.

So we're making Sky Pirates, and we're publishing Sky Pirate literature and films. (Things like #filibus and The Pirates of 1920)

And we're making Sky Pirate toys.

And we're writing stories, and computer games, about people who fly through the skies smashing factories and living free.
