As of this writing, there are 130.129.027 pictures on Wikipedia (technically, on Wikimedia Commons). Of those, 20.698 (roughly 0,016%) are called Featured pictures, considered to be of the highest quality on the site.
One of them is this shot of the ruins of Sipar, Croatia - and it seems to be the first kite aerial photo that got this prestigious title. Hurrah! 🙂

I thought it might be nice to rotate the background picture of this blog with photos of Thanet. I might be tempted to also sometimes use art from and about the area.
Each time I change the background picture I will publish a post like this one.
This picture is a photo that I took in Pegwell looking back at Ramsgate in the summer of 2024.
