After listening to it a bit at work, I decided to snag Sleep Token's "Even in Arcadia" for myself. Picked up a CD release + digital and have been listening to it for a few days now.
Impressions? It's a fascinating, genre-bending album sometimes shifting mid-song in a unique way. The music is complex with vocals that go from gorgeously melodic to gruff and aggressive. It was more low key than I was expecting, but when it rocks, it rocks hard.
To me the most notable tracks were Damocles and Past Self.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this metalcore act, but I am glad I checked this album out. I may need to look into some of their older music too.
