My #EufySecurity Homebase started running it's fan constantly all of a sudden, and it almost never shuts off.

I installed a HDD last year. It's not storing more recordings than it used to.

Since it's #Chinese I have to wonder if it's surveilling my network 😕

@theendismeh I'm pretty happy with my EufyCams. They are made by a Chinese company (Anker), and the app contains some analytics trackers. The build quality is flawless, they operate locally without a subscription, and the software gets the job done. There was a scare last year about push notification previews being stored in an unsecured cloud, but push notifications always go through AAPL or GOOG clouds. They are off by default now.

Eufy has access to your Homebase 3.

I just learned this today. When support complained there was no HB3 on my account so they couldn't retrieve logs and data.

This probably wasn't the first time they attempted access either. Looking back at support history, the HB3 collects information about the network it's connected to, and Eufy has access to this.

Eufy Homebase 3 is a trojan horse.

Good thing I removed it!

Just got my new #EufySecurity S380 Homebase.

I bought the first one on Kickstarter, and I was disappointed when their new doorbell cameras didn't support it because it meant I had to have two devices connected to my network and the Homebase 2 doesn't have expandable storage.

Well #Eufy / #Anker must've heard my complaints because this new one has a slot for a HARD DRIVE!!

Well, Hell! #Eufy pulled the #EufySecurity for #macOS from the app store!

Now I can't download my camera video. (please, no smart remarks from the peanut gallery that "no one else can either")...

I booted the app up today and it'll log in but doesn't show my cameras. It shows I've got data on my homebase2's, (dots under the dates) but nothing else!
