  1. Is #globalwarming "mainly" due to the accumulation of carbon dioxide #CO2 or #deforestation? CO2 is just a greenhouse gas which will not by itself produce heat. Trees and green plants all have photosynthesis that turns CO2 and water into CO2 and oxygen. Not only does it reduce CO2, it also absorbs sun radiation because #photosynthesis is an #endothermic reaction. It is cooler inside a forest than a desert not only because of the shade trees provide, but also photosynthesis. #climatechange

  2. #Megalodon wasn’t as chonky as a #greatwhiteshark
A team of 26 #shark experts is challenging the #greatwhite shark comparison, arguing that the super-sized creature's body was more slender and possibly even longer than researchers previously thought. Megalodon is also a #mackerelshark, and some scientists have suggest it was at least partially #endothermic to have maintained its growth rates in the varied environments that it inhabited.

Extinct gigantic megatooth sharks were at the top of the marine food web once. Their evolution to gigantic sizes and their extinction are not well understood. A recent study analysed isotopes from thefossil teeth and found that these sharks developed endothermic thermoregulation and evolved to gigantic sizes but the high metabolic costs and bioenergetic demands could not be sustained longer
