About to embark on a long trek through #EasternWA, Central #Oregon & Northern #CA. I will see magnificent scenery & be amazed by the #microclimates. The #PNW is a fabulous environment, though the ravages of wildfire & resource extraction mar her endless beauty. #Roadtrip to see #family, grateful for the infrastructure our taxes pay for, ready for shock of #peakoil fossil fuel prices. Love to see the volcanoes 🌋 feel their dormant power.
Apricots & plums will fall, the #garden continues w/o me.

#wetlands #restoration project in #EasternWA is doing its job as the winter #snowmelt from Mount Bonaparte rushes down Myers Creek towards the #KettleRiver in Canada. The #BDA (Beaver Dam Analogs) are doing their job: slowing the flow, spreading the water, preventing further channelization. Working with nature to restore habitat! #Water, she rise up!

Up on the Kettle Crest (#EasternWA) the snow remains, with the stark memory of trees that were lost to #fire. There is still life waiting to burst forth!

The best part about traveling across the mountains for work is that I got to take an after work duties walk in the sunshine without a coat on. #wawx #easternwA #pnw
