  5. Mentioned just now in one of the #BDCAM25 Lightning talks: the @dpc_chat’s Rapid Assessment Model (#DPCRAM), a #DigitalPreservation maturity modelling tool that has been designed to enable rapid benchmarking of an organization’s #DigiPres capability & facilitate continuous improvement over time dpconline.org/digipres/impleme

  10. @joshuatj We need @sharonmcmeekin and @amyicurrie in on this conversation for sure! Another way of doing so is also through #DPCRAM which highlights 'Community' as its own section, thus flagging it up as something that organizations need to be doing in order to achieve success across the board in #digipres

  15. Nice to see Fernanda Maciel talking about use of #DPCRAM (our Rapid Assessment Model) to assess digital preservation in the Brazilian Justice System. I need to take a closer look at her poster 🙂 #ipres2024

  20. This is a really great exercise in getting back to basics. I’m pulling up the Digital Preservation Handbook again, the #DPCRAM

  25. First #dp3 in a while because things have been a little messy. Things are getting a bit better but still a little unsettled.

    1. Follow up on an appraisal which needs some more inputs from agency.

    2. Come up with task for non-digipres colleague who’s interested to dip her toes in digipres.

    3. Review last year’s #DPCRAM to see if anything needs updating.

  29. My #digipres 3 things for the day...

    1) Prepare for the #ndsa Levels open office session later today. We are discussing what needs to change in the next revision (if anything!)

    2) Continue event planning - mostly trying to get another couple of speakers for our #DPCRAM 'RAM Jam' event on 6th December so I can get that advertised.

    3) Attend DP Futures webinar with Libnova and @ntallman dpconline.org/events/eventdeta

  36. @wzhkevin Interesting, I'm really curious to see how this evolves. In my case it went a bit differently: after doing the #DPCRAM I realized that I had "Write (more) / improve documentation" across several sections from high-level policies in governance to technical documentation. So now I feel a bit like an octopus, trying to write / ask people to write documentation & policies left and right...
(Eureka moment: I just found my #DigitalPreservation animal: the #DigiPres octopus 😎🤣)

  41. Our next 'RAM Jam' event is now live on the #DPC website. This one is all about HOW our members use #DPCRAM. Looking forward to it already!

  44. I’m going to be a bit ambitious again today. Want to plug away at these three things:

    1. Continue Friday’s review of #DPCRAM, this time identifying concrete deliverables.

    2. Document conclusions from yesterday’s discussion on file formats and compare against current policy to decide if we need to propose any changes.

    3. If there’s any time left, make some progress on appraisals.

  48. Right off the bat I want to say I appreciate that the #DPC documentation guide’s “What should be documented” section makes reference to organisational capabilities in the #DPCRAM. Because intuitively you would want to be able to list documentation as part of that gap you need to close between your current and target levels, and this makes it easier to do that.
