@tazgetroete besser als nichts. Aber #Discounter traue ich, was „fairen Einkauf“ angeht, keinen Millimeter weit. Es ist doch kein Zufall, dass deren EignerInnen zu den reichsten Deutschen gehören.
Und #Fairtrade klingt ja so fair - ist aber inzwischen von der Industrie komplett unterwandert. Das Label verspricht mehr, als es hält.
#Directtrade ist da deutlich besser.

(Scherz am Rande: „die Kunden zahlen nicht mehr“ - nachdem die Schokoladenpreise locker 50% zugelegt haben… 🧐)

@ZDF was hindert Lidl&Co. mit ihrer europäischen Tochter im billigeren Land einzukaufen und dann nach Deutschland zu transportieren?
Das ist doch eher eun Kartell aus Herstellern & Händlern, statt nur Hersteller-gesteuert 🤔

Aber gerade bei #Schokolade, wie auch bei #Kaffee, haben VerbraucherInnen eine Alternative: #DirectTrade. Oder die Nachfrage dem Preis anzupassen.
Muss Politik für billige Schokolade sorgen? 🤔

EDIT: After posting all of this, I received an email from someone who is well-versed in worker-rights as they relate to chocolate farming. Unfortunately they said that FairTrade is another one of the labels that does more harm than good. I believe direct trade can still be beneficial, but obviously need to get better informed about it all. For now I'll be leaving this post here, but deleting the GIF I made.

Sometimes when the world is a mess my brain gets wrapped up in the cycle of wanting to do something about everything, getting overwhelmed, and doing nothing. In an attempt to derail that cycle, I’m trying to focus my frustration-energy on a specific ethical topic that I'm passionate about. My topic of choice (drumroll): Fair/Direct Trade! (esp. for chocolate, coffee, and tea)

I'm in the learning phase (and honestly probably always will be) and welcome any helpful insights or questions, but these are a few early thoughts:

• #Nestle #Nespresso & alle Kapselsysteme,
• #Discounter mit Billigangeboten
• und auch #Fairtrade (die sind wenig besser).

Geht zu #Directtrade. Die kaufen bei kleineren Bauern, kümmern sich um Qualität und zahlen mehr. Es gibt viele kleine Röstereien hier inzwischen auch. Da kostet der #Kaffee mehr (nicht ggü Kapseln!) - aber man muss ihn ja auch nicht literweise trinken.

Und fordert Eure Arbeitgeber!

Waarom onze koffie #directtrade is, en waarom dat mooier is dan #fairtrade.
