Well, PS3 emulation gets better and better. At one point in the near future, PS4 emulation will be possible. PS5? Probably. Also, Xbox 360 games work better and better via emulation. Older systems? No problem, mostly.
If the industry wants to go that route, gamers will adept quick, I think.
Indie has a bright future, though.

Microsoft will likely soon follow Sony and stop the production of physical discs for Xbox games. But instead of leaving physical discs behind entirely, sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans tell me the company has quietly been working on a disc-to-digital feature that will allow Xbox owners to digitize their existing physical game collections.
Xbox employees recently started testing this new feature, after references to “enable Disc2Digital” appeared in the Xbox PC app code in May. I’m told that Microsoft’s disc-to-digital feature will work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X discs only, and not those for the Xbox 360 or original Xbox console.

Es geht vor allem darum, die internen Prozesse der Verwaltung endlich zu digitalisieren und damit im Übrigen auch bürgerfreundlicher zu gestalten. Der Zugang (!) zur öffentlichen Verwaltung muss und wird weiterhin diskriminierungsfrei möglich sein, z. B. durch Assistenten - wie wir das gerade in der @landesregierung im entsprechenden Gesetzesentwurf vorschlagen. Das hat die #DMK im Übrigen aus so explizit festgestellt. #DigitalOnly

(Gut, trifft mich als Velo-statt-ÖV-Pendler nicht wirklich. Und #20Minuten ist auch nicht grade ein Qualitätsblättchen, aber irgendwie ist das Einstellen der grössten gedruckten "Tageszeitung" der #Schweiz schon heftig, auch wenn vielleicht die kostenlosen Pendlerblättchen nochmal was anderes sind als echte Tageszeitungen.)
