Illegal Alien Records welcomes Colombian-born DJ and producer Colomboi, who delivers his short-format debut with the Alchemy EP. Born and raised in Bogotá, where he took his first steps behind the decks, the artist continued his development in London—a pivotal city for honing his studio skill set and defining his aesthetic—before permanently settling in Madrid.

Following his recent contribution to the Between Lands & Oceans III compilation this past August, from which we had the absolute pleasure of presenting the premiere, Colomboi returns to the imprint with a five-track package of originals exploring the nuances of groove, tension, and atmospheric design. His sonic identity rests upon the foundations of classic techno, driving punchy chords, wrapping rhythmic lines, and melodic textures through a modern production lens.

The sound of «Need», our featured premiere for this release, displays a striking duality: it feels agile and fresh while retaining the rugged edges of a dense, deep progression. This initial contradiction ultimately reveals that contrasting elements can seamlessly merge in symbiosis when guided by the right studio vision. In this way, depth and surface, freshness and effervescence, agility and weight dissolve into a unified whole.

The third release on the Anodynic Frequencies label comes from a Rome-based DJ and producer whose sound blends deep atmospheres, hypnotic melodies, and contemporary techno influences.

Shawn❅, the moniker of Alessandro Romeo, is an Italian producer, DJ, and composer. His journey into electronic music began at the age of 14, when he also composed his first piano piece. Initially experimenting with production under a different alias, he created tracks bridging ambient and cinematic electronics before discovering techno and stepping into a whole new world.
