His background as an audio engineer on productions for Netflix, Warner Bros., and HBO directly informs the way he constructs sound. Club Furies (CF): You have been immersed in Berlin’s club culture for over 13 years. At what point in that journey did you feel you had found your own language as a producer?

Rigor: It wasn’t that long ago. From the outset, I had a clear vision of the sound I wanted to pursue, but I lacked the technical foundation to fully realize it. That changed when I completed my training in audio engineering—around four years ago—which also led me to commit to Ableton. Since then, I’ve been able to shape and refine a sound that genuinely feels like my own.

CF: Berlin carries a very heavy mythology around techno. How do you live with that shadow without letting it crush your identity?

Rigot: It’s a constant challenge. But by resisting the pull of the mainstream, you naturally carve out your own space—one where your identity can develop and solidify without compromise.

No Memories — the EP

CF: The title No Memories suggests a state of absolute present, an erasure of the past. How did that concept emerge in relation to the music?

Rigor: The EP title, much like the track names across all my releases, reflects my current state of mind. The music follows the same principle—it’s always tied to a specific emotional moment.

CF: The press release describes the EP as music designed to «bypass the pulse and go straight for the psyche.» What concrete production decisions did you make to achieve that?

Rigor: I work with punchy, driving drums, layered with bleep-driven synths and atmospheric textures, aiming to engage the listener on a more subconscious level.

CF: The three tracks work as a unit but each carries its own weight. How did you build the internal progression of the EP?

Rigor: There’s a lot of intention behind it. Working within the same key across a release helps maintain tonal coherence and creates a unified sonic language. It supports the mixdown process and allows the tracks to transition seamlessly, forming a continuous narrative.

Rigor: It can be challenging. Spending eight hours a day working in a DAW inevitably shifts your relationship to it. That’s why most of my own production happens on weekends or during time away—it needs a different kind of headspace.

CF: You started with a Xone mixer and analog hardware before settling into Ableton. What did the analog world leave you with that no software could replace?

Rigor: For the first six to seven years, I spent countless hours in DAWless jam sessions with my best friend. Those sessions were essential—they shaped my sense of timing and laid the groundwork for my approach to sound design.

CF: Techno has a long history with altered states of consciousness and dance as collective ritual. How do you think about the dancefloor when you produce?

Rigor: For me, being a techno producer also means understanding the dynamics of the dancefloor. You need an open mindset and a certain sensitivity for the crowd—only then can you truly connect with people through your tracks.

CF: No Memories is conceived for the late hours of the night. If you had to place it at a precise moment within a set, what would that moment be and why?

Rigor: I see this release unfolding in the final third of a set. I tend to build things more minimally in the beginning, so these tracks naturally belong to that later moment—when the energy becomes more focused and immersive.

From Lille, France, comes someone worth knowing right now: CHAM, a young and promising live techno artist and DJ with a proposition that makes clear from the very first second that there’s something serious behind it. We had the opportunity to premiere one of his tracks —and we didn’t let it pass.

The track is called Perspective of Nowhere, and the title already anticipates the territory it inhabits. Created entirely from his studio in Lille, with live analog machines as the central axis of all the creation, the result is an ambient sound track with a very particular personality. There’s an immediate electricity in how it begins —something that happens ipso facto, without preamble— which quickly transforms into something more complex: gusts of the past made present, suspended amid uncertain realities and futures hanging by a thread. The choice this time is Tesisnos, a Spanish producer who arrives with a proposal as powerful as it is concise: three original tracks that need no more space than they take up to leave you completely undone. CF Premiere: cat can do, Carara – Our Perception [Diffuse Reality Records]

There are two geographies that, when it comes to electronic music —and techno in particular, though not only techno— appear again and again as unavoidable references: Spain and Germany. Germany experienced a historical and almost mythological acceleration following the Fall of the Berlin Wall, when the empty spaces of a reunified city became the perfect stage for a new club culture to take deep root. Spain, for its part, has never needed such a dramatic founding moment —it has simply been there, continuously and consistently, establishing itself as one of the territories where electronic music pulses with the most force and authenticity. Two countries, two different stories, one shared drive.

It’s precisely at that intersection where the meeting between cat can do and Carara makes complete sense. Originally from Canada and now based in Alicante, cat can do has built an enviable reputation for his agility with analog machines and an improvisational ability that sounds so organic and natural it almost seems effortless —though behind it lie years of work and cultivated sensitivity. Carara, meanwhile, brings a techno strength and rhythmic versatility that moves comfortably across the full breadth of that supergenre. These aren’t two opposing sounds complementing each other through contrast: they’re two visions that share the same underlying language.

Their relationship didn’t start here. They had already crossed paths on the Spanish label Diffuse Reality Records, where the German remixed the Spaniard in a release for which Club Furies had the exclusive premiere. That collaboration made clear there was something real between these two artists —a chemistry worth exploring further. And that’s exactly what they’ve done.

Ambient Odyssey is the result of taking that exploration to its fullest extent: a complete collaborative release, once again on Diffuse Reality Records, made up of seven original tracks that are, frankly, spectacular. This isn’t a collection of loosely related tracks sharing the same sleeve —it’s a cohesive work with clear direction and a sonic identity that can only emerge when two artists truly listen to each other.

«Our Perception» is one of those tracks that stays with you. It’s a series of sonic bulbs that together present a uniform whole —latent, alive, filled with a growing excitement mediated by sensations of precision and anticipation. The track stabilizes on high notes, climbs toward delirium, and then does something that’s rarely executed with this much grace: it suspends itself. It holds in ethereal notes that graze silence while the body sinks into ecstasy, and the sound reaches its peak only to float there placidly, in no hurry to leave.

The transition from that ethereal valley back to perceptive reality is, simply put, spectacular. All that remains is total immersion —surrendering to its pull and letting go. One more reminder, as if any were needed, of why cat can do and Carara are two of our favorite producers right now.
