This is long, I don't know the guy, in fact, offered up by none other than #youtube 's recommendation engine which is, of course, #AI. But it is kind of fun so there is that!
I will just say, study what life and intellect was like before photography, before we trusted mechanical reproduction. And remember Roland Barthes in the essay "The Photographic Message" pointed out that images were ideology not reality. So.

@jhpot It is important to block Sam Altman's and Elon Musk's regulatory lock in. They are intentionally scaring people to get regulations that seal the market off from competition. AI already has great accomplishments in CS and data science - it could help with cancer breakthroughs, yes. For search? No, it is not normal for cockroaches to emerge from your penis, and the real threat of AI that I can see is really in the hands of SEO, other scammers and #darkforestinternet. Eyeball the fraud!

Just as #pigbutchering #crytoscam #silos #ebay becoming the largest and apparently legalized fence of #porchpirate stolen and shoplifted goods, #facebook and #instagram murdering teen girls, #monopolies and all of it. Let's not even #genai #llm telling us roaches are normal in our penis holes and pregnants should smoke. It is becoming a horror show of actual death.

It is not just children and #tiktok, app bans and behavior problems. (Which is becoming truer in my experience and is already a crisis in the experience of my teacher partner/other... See also CA recent bills to ban cell phones in school...) Many humans are not ready for this. I may not be, retreating as I am into the seemingly safer confines of #mastodon In any case, #darkforestinternet is real. #pigbutchering is of course just part of it.

Here is the original (I assume) theorization of the dark forest internet from 2019 by Yancey Strickler. The new is LLMs (and LLMs in the hands of SEO) dehumanizing (literally, chasing away human presence) from the old open internet (the one Google still indexes) as we all run to the last human places. (I like to think #mastodon can remain one of these refuges!) I left Facebook in 2017 bc of Cambridge Analytica so I guess I am a canary for this. #darkforestinternet
