Next up for me at the #CoopCongress today (maybe mute this hashtag now if this isn't your jam 😅) we have:
"What's next for us owning our own tech? Let's talk about #CoTech"
> Hosted by John Robb, musician, author and campaigner; and Natasha Natarajan, Outlandish Co-operative, and Richard Rowley from Agile Collective, who are both part of CoTech – a network of ethical tech, digital and creative co-operatives.

Excellent interview with Common Knowledge (https://twitter.com/cmmonknowledge) on the General Intellect Unit (https://twitter.com/giunitpod) podcast 👽
http://generalintellectunit.net/e/068-common-knowledge/
rss feed: http://generalintellectunit.net/feed.xml
We've not heard a more honest exploration of #coops #techcoops and #cotech
Absolute goldmine of info. If you're looking for a starting point for learning about co-ops. This is it.
We need to build radical infrastructure NOW. This includes tech infrastructure. There isn't any time to waste. Join the solidarity economy :ecosocialism:

Hi, everyone! We are a workers co-op, predominately based in the UK.
We provide tech services with a commitment to privacy, transparency and sustainability. We have a strong commitment to libre software.
We are especially interested in working with co-ops and other collective organisations working for a better world.
This account is simultaneously posting on both Twitter and Mastodon (Fediverse). Bear with us while we tweak the settings for this integration. It might be a little annoying till we figure this out 😄

#Cotech listening to a super presentation on a network of tech coops in Argentina https://facttic.org.ar/
They have build a fantastic network where worker coops participate together to share and work without competing. They train each other for free in technologies to be able to grow and expand too. -
Currently I am at the cooperative technologists spring gathering https://community.coops.tech/t/cotech-spring-2019-gathering-25-26th-april-in-sheffield/1166 #CoTech

@mayel @kawaiipunk @nicksellen I'm guessing you'd have to be a member coop of #CoTech? I imagine it as a way to turn surplus back into salaries, while getting public interest work done. Not a way to make holes in CoTech's collective bucket ;) Now if we could create a federation of federations with a single CoBudget instance, and your coop was part of one of the federations ...

@asimong @aadilayub true. I had an interesting chat with Oli from #OpenCoop and Harry from #CoTech that got me thinking about how much of our collective wealth gets extracted through the most old-fashioned rent-seekers; building owners. Imagine if we could pool common wealth to buy buildings, and have a cooperative rent them out at-cost, plus a modest mark-up that contributes to a pool to buy the next building.
