One fast way for you to lose my trust is to assert unilateral authority over the meaning of a word that affects me, such as in a private chat between you and me.

If you get to dictate what I meant by "sandwich" a minute ago just because you're a native speaker, then why won't you dictate what "part" means in our vows?

And when I tell you about a familiar threat, if you're so sure that you understand their words better than I do, then your promise of aid means little.
