MARCUS: The power of separating the intellect from the senses, and reason from instinct, is characteristic of the highest genius.
[Magni autem est ingenii sevocare mentem a sensibus et cogitationem ab consuetudine abducere.]Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 BC) Roman orator, statesman, philosopher
Tusculan Disputations [Tusculanae Disputationes], Book 1, ch. 16 (1.16) / sec. 38 (1.38) (45 BC) [ed. Harbottle (1897)]More about (and translations of) this quote: wist.info/cicero-marcus-tulliu…

👨💻 Ah, "effortlessly" deploying cloud coding agents – because who doesn't want to add another layer of #abstraction to their already convoluted cloud infrastructure just to feel like a tech wizard? 🧙♂️ Apparently, it's the 26th letter in the alphabet that finally cracked the code to make developers' lives even more 'exciting'. 🎉

When #abstraction is bad. I want to run #JavaScript #Promise s in sequence, not "parallel". Easy:
let tail = Promise.resolve();
for(.x.) {
tail = tail.then(() => somePromise(x));
}
await tail;But I wrote a class PromiseSerializer. It got out of hand.
- collect all results
- catch all errors
- allow callback on resolved promise value
- allow aborting
- two variants to add a promise
- document semanticsyet each use site needed maybe two of those. And looked worse than the code above.🤦♀️

Since I have no machines to run #AI I can only speculate from what I can #Imagine . Does AI have a #Skill called #Abstraction? (like thinking deep into some subject and "look" to the object to see more openly the object) .. does skills include #Objectives ? (like don't change the first generated code, but develop new modules to fix what the first code is doing wrong) .. is like a #patch(er) -> Fix code vs Break code <- Is always on the intention Right? #RedTeams #Dream
