  1. Cory Weeds - Dig Weeds!

For the 2nd release on Cohearent, Kevin Grey reached out to Cory Weeds, the Canadian sax player. Weeds put together a quartet with David Hazeltine (piano), Neal Miner (bass) and Byron Landham (drums).

Joe Harley, the Tone Poet himself, produced, and it's a great sounding collection of tunes, in classic Hard Bop style.

  6. Kirsten Edkins' "Shapes & Sound” - the first release from Kevin Gray's new record label: an all-tube/valve recording that tries to replicate Rudy Van Gelder's setup, and I have to say this is just a spectacular sounding record (great set, too!) - highly recommended.

    (Sorry for all the reflections…)
