CW: UK Politics
I truly despair at our political journalists. They all seem to be asking questions based on the assumption that deporting innocent people to Rwanda is fine in principle but that the government is incompetent for not actually doing it.
Will any journalist ask the PM why he refuses to do the one thing that would *actually* stop the boats, namely creating safe and legal routes for claiming asylum in the UK?

"The system we call democracy is a mere patina, sticky and dimpled, on the surface of oligarchic power."
George Monbiot's analysis of oligarchic state capitalism is increasingly robust. In this piece, I particularly like his description of client journalists as part of a "concierge class".

Does this Guardian journalist really feel "intoxicating delight" from knowing that someone on the phone was sat next to someone else?
Or is this #clientjournalism from the Guardian following a government line about getting workers into offices?
-
The Green party on the other hand reject this frame, demand we try to spread the wealth out of the city centers. Convert the offices into residential blocks, get people living in the city centers again. Encourage home-working to reduce the wasetful commute.
So Marr won't have a green spokeman on.
