Dann halt mit ckeditor...

Jetzt habe ich jahrelang mit dem ScribeFire Browserplugin die Formatierung von Blogbeiträgen geregelt und bei Copy & Paste Passagen die Originalformatierung von Beiträgen etc. problemlos und 1:1 übernehmen können. Die Tage wurde dann die Unterstützung des Plugins in Brave oder anderen Brosern eingestellt, die damit dem Beispiel von Firefox folgen. Verständlich einerseits, ist doch das Plugin seit 2018 nicht mehr aktiv entwickelt worden.

Ärgerlich andererseits, daß ich armer Tropf nun auf der Suche nach einem anständigen WYSIWYG HTML Editor bei ckeditor r 4.14.0 (revision 8a12b04171) gelandet bin, der bei unserem Blogsystem schon immer dabei ist. Auch das ist nicht gerade taufrisch, aber irgendwie bin ich gerade zu faul, um da eine aktuelle Version reinzuprökeln, zumal die ziemlich sackteuer ist.

Man kann eben nicht immer gewinnen...

Annoying that #DartSass is removing the @import function just as #CKEditor has stopped using an iframe.

Now ckeditor stylesheets on a #Drupal edit form are no longer isolated to the wysiwyg field, and there is no clean and simple way to wrap the entire front-end theme in a ckeditor class selector using an import.

When you don’t progress like you want, try to do something else.

Got stuck with customizing the #ckeditor Drop Target Styles, so decided to fix bugs I stumbled upon while upgrading the CKEditor.

So now we have 3 bug fixes and 4 issues more in the #neoscms UI

As for upgrading #TYPO3 instances to #v12, this is really necessary to keep the previous behaviour of #CKEditor4 that only one #style can be assigned to an element instead of multiple. #CKEditor

i spent the whole day, WHOLE FUCKING DAY, debugging in #Backdrop with #ckeditor the #Mastodon embeddable code.

and even after i got it to work, i have to submit a ticket because it looks like Mastodon is NOT following standard #oembed protocols; hence the difficulties.

this should not have taken me a whole fucking day to sort out but every single FLOSS project is pulling bullshit moves and breaking the web (AM LOOKING AT YOU #CKEDITOR)

My clients keep leaving a trailing paragraph - and who can blame them! Lead padding is much smaller than trailing padding & after a list it's humongous. My fix:
1. Set CKEditor branding to `outside`
2. Equalise vertical padding.
3. Force 0 padding after a `:last-child` list (as is set after every other element!)

See before / after / config. Makes spotting rogue empty lines much easier. This should be default imho.

Happy with #CraftCMS transition to #CKEditor but made some improvements.

another speedbump was how #ckeditor in #drupal no longer supports link target, title, etc. I wound up needing this contrib module https://www.drupal.org/project/editor_advanced_link

i ran into some peculiar speedbumps building a very basic #drupal 10 site that would be showstoppers for novices:
😬#ckeditor 5 inline images and default admin themes don't apply height:auto, but do set image max-width to 100%, so my giant pixel art displays at the wrong aspect ratio before correcting it in both the admin and default themes
