Today was the Neos Contribution Day right after #NeosCon in Karlsruhe. The idea is that members of the @team Neos Team help interested people getting started with contributing to #NeosCMS.

Everybody was quite busy today and I really enjoyed the post-conference vibe before now heading home.

Thanks to everyone who helps making Neos even better, you rock!

I was so busy with all the preparations, that I forgot to tell you: I‘m at #NeosCon! Yeah, it’s that time of the year again, meeting old and new friends and recharging our community batteries. As always, we’re having such a great time! I‘ll post some more details after the conference.

Got stuck with customizing the #ckeditor Drop Target Styles, so decided to fix bugs I stumbled upon while upgrading the CKEditor.

So now we have 3 bug fixes and 4 issues more in the #neoscms UI

Right after Neos Con in Berlin, the Neos Team met for a sprint to discuss ideas, current tasks and get their hands dirty with work on Neos and Flow.

The atmosphere was great, especially because we could welcome a few first-timers at our sprint. @runa wrote up what we've been busy with and described the spirit she experienced. Thank you for joining us, Runa!

So it seems I lost 3 of my 5 #Github sponsors last month due to them ending the #PayPal payment possibility 😔

I really can't complain too much about getting feature/bugfix sponsorship for specific plugins and the #NeosCMS core in the last few years, but getting financial support for general maintenance and just investing time in the community is really really hard. #OpenSourceSustainability

So over the weekend I dove deeper into using #recoil in the #NeosCMS media management #react app.

Until now we had only used the atoms and few selectors.
But there are quite a few new features since we started using it. So I now integrated selector families, proxy selectors and a few other things.

It helped improving the app in regards to performance and it allowed me to get rid of some hooks, but compared to using the simple primitives of signals it’s a bit more complicated.

I've been working on our in-house customer management and billing tool "Cabana" for months (on and off between other projects). It's based on #NeosFlow, #GraphQL and #React and it is a perfect opportunity for me to improve my UI development skills.

Now it's the last week before holidays and I wonder if I'll manage to finish invoicing to the degree that enables us to switch invoicing to Cabana on January 1st. Let's try … 🙈

My biggest privilege of working in a small company and being my own boss is that I can decide on what to work on, as I see fit.

Sometimes it's customer projects, sometimes our infrastructure, the #OpenSource project #NeosCMS or our platform #FlownativeBeach. And right now it's our in-house finance and customer management tool #Cabana.

It's great being able to dedicate time and create good quality software for something as "unimportant" as a tool only three persons use in-house.
