I was pleasantly surprised by this calm and sad tale of a young man who spies on his beautiful but unhappy neighbour. Observed in a distant yet empathetic manner eschewing the thriller element and overt moralism. A very elegant film.

Top Gun: Maverick was my favorite movie of the year, but The Banshees of Inisherin is the movie I can't stop thinking about. Just watched it again; a true masterpiece. Hilarious, deep, dark, and emotional. There are so many layers to this movie.

Just finished up The Matrix for the gazillionth time. I'm always expecting it to not have aged well, but it's still awesome. Aside from all the "He is the ones," which are a little cringey, it's always as good as I remember.

Somehow I'd never seen Shaun of the Dead before. Rectified that tonight. One of the best first acts from any zombie movie. Loved all the background stuff, so funny.
