For my #ChunkyFringe livestreams this year, I once again used a Smarty data-only SIM in a 4G router from AliExpress, and once again...it...just...worked!
Rarely does technology behave so well, but it really was insert SIM, activate on app...minutes later...internet!

I'm not live *now*...but saying it now as tomorrow I'll likely be prepping in a panic until the last second, then go straight from prep to live with no advance warning!
My aim is 3pm, but might be earlier.

This is the sort of prep I was doing in the hotel at silly o'clock the night before #ChunkyFringe.
So with days - plural - until #Teletext50, I'm counting this as progress!
Having said that, this portable streaming PC still has over a year of Windows updates to catch up on...

For those who couldn't get to #ChunkyFringe on Saturday, here's the unusual teletext service recovered from VHS tape by Tom41, which I've cleaned up and showed for the first time.
This was broadcast on a TV guide channel of a local cable TV in the Harrow area in January 1999 -

Went through tomorrow's livestream setup in my head. Wrote a checklist.
Most of it is already packed, but I only have lunchtime to sort the last bits. Setting off at 6pm.
Still really looking forward to Chunky Fringe, but the reality of the slog is setting in 😛

I've (hopefully) learned my lesson in terms of committing to a schedule right now, but I am committing to a fixed point: Chunky Fringe on 29th July 2023.
Between now and then, I'm going to be popping up ad-hoc, testing my OB tech, and updating Nemetext.

With the announcement of #chunkyfringe 2023 here's a #teletext recreation of a poster which I adapted for the first Chunky Fringe I attended in 2021. A Level 2.5 rendering and two Level 1 renderings, with and without double size text.
