A great week for iHub!

The ACM #CHI23 Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems featured four projects presented by iHubbers.

Aditya presented his paper on the fair redesigning of newsfeeds, as well as a poster on how pricing and ratings affect perceived value of digital detox apps.

Hanna presented an iHub project on the 'limited time discounts' and their effect on consumers behaviour and experience.

Vaughn Hamilton ended her #CHI23 talk on Onlyfans with a really great call to action (roughly, as my memory serves)

"It’s a shame and an embarrassment to our community that this paper is the only paper on adult content at CHI. As other people have observed: the internet is for porn.

Sex workers told you so. Many of the harms discussed here today are first felt by sex workers. If we make the internet safe for sex workers then we will make it safe for everyone."

🥳 I'm very excited to announce that our paper about engaging and governing strategies in social networking sites got accepted at #CHI23
We examined #darkpatterns on #facebook, #instagram, #tiktok and #twitter and described domain-specific strategies steering users' decisions.
