  24. Lord,
you are the glory of those who serve you.
Look lovingly on our departed brothers and sisters,
united in following Christ and his Mother
by the waters of baptism and the bonds of Carmel.
    In your mercy
grant them everlasting sight of you,
    their Creator and Redeemer.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
    God, forever and ever.

  28. @horgereve
Avril, it seems that we #Carmelites have our fair share of #art critics because our #iconography includes innumerable images of #saints and #angels holding people and things... for example, Bernini's sculpture of Teresa and the Angel that's in one of our parish churches in Rome. And boy howdy have we seen some bad images of #hands in 2 and 3 dimensions! Yours are fantastic!💯

  29. The #gospel talks about having to testify and give a defense. Jesus says, "I will give you words and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand" (Lk 21:15).

That's what happened when the #Carmelites of Compiègne went to trial. Blessed Marie Henriette, prompted by the Spirit, had the presence of mind to demand that the prosecutor define what he meant by charging the #nuns as "fanatics."
