I mourn the #death of #popebenedictxvi (aka Joseph Ratzinger) along with my Roman Catholic friends. His #theology was deeply formative of my own in many ways (even when I disagreed with his conclusions).
One of my favorite series he wrote was the “Jesus of Nazareth” trilogy. Definitely a must read if you haven’t already read it!
And dear Roman Catholic brothers and sisters, know that i am praying for you as you grieve the loss of this beloved #pope and pastor-theologian.

Rest in peace, Pope Benedict XVI.
No pope is perfect, for starters. His understanding and teaching about liturgy was formative for me. He was the only pope I've seen in person (thus far) and will forever grace our home as the pope granting an apostolic blessing for our wedding.
May the angels take him to his Creator with all due haste.
