  1. Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)

Single exposure image of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon), October 20, 2025. Tech: Canon EOS 5D Mk. 4 DSLR, 400mm lens, f/5.6, ISO 10,000, 4 seconds.

October 21, 2025 — It was a tough one to find but, after a good deal of effort under near-pristine (for us) skies, I was able to spot the comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) from a Medina County, Ohio park. This (above) is a quick edit of a single frame. Star tracking wasn’t what it should have been; I’ve got to get more practice in the field! I worked on combining multiple frames the next morning, attempting to create a better quality image.

Stacking RAW images of C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) I did what I could to pull the most out of the imagery. What we got was a somewhat “cleaner” version. Not spectacular but the best we could do given all circumstances. I hope to learn improved processing skills and revisit the source images in the future. In the meantime, though the pictures are not spectacular, I’m happy to have bagged another comet. After all, how many of them do most of us see in a lifetime? These were recorded the night of October 20 but the UTC time conversion moves the date to the 21st.

  3. #Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) on Oct 27. Median, aligned on the comet showing a fair bit of both ion and dust tail

  4. After many attempts, trying different things and learning how astrophoto stacking works, I managed to get this stack out of my exposures. Lessons learned:

    1. I probably shouldn't have stopped my lens down a couple of steps, as I sacrificed SNR for a tiny increase in sharpness.

    2. Flat frames are *very* important, and very hard to take properly (as you can see by the fact this image still shows a ring).

I think I am done with this one (for now 😰).

  5. I did find comet Lemmon last night in hazy London atmosphere with clouds around.

Not a great photo, but it is still possible to do, even from light polluted cities.

  6. Comet C/2025 A6 in the constellation Boötes, on the evening of October 24th. Captured from the light polluted outskirts of Munich.

18 minutes integration time with my Fujifilm X-S10 and 135mm f4.5 lens (untracked).

  7. Here's my first attempt at stacking the images I got of comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon.

It's nothing like the images on Astrobin, and I'm sure much better results could be achieved, but I'm still happy with it!

  8. Such comet. Much wow.

Näin Lemmon-komeetan juuri ja juuri kiikarilla kun katsoin hieman ohi siitä. Kamerankin 15 sekunnin valotukseen se vähän tarttui.

  9. Not going to even try to shoot a stack in this muck but #Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is easily visible with a hint of tail through fog in a single 5s frame. Star just above is mag ~6.5

  10. Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is getting low into the dawn, and this is the first time I felt the need to process it. With the way the weather forecast is looking, this might have been my last chance to shoot it before it disappears in the Sun. #astrophotography #seestar #comet #c2025a6
