Today I would recommend
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.I have PTSD, and this book basically describes the condition. I know it is scifi and supposed to be time travel, but to me, it is essence of condition.

Today I'm recommending
Binti by Nnedi OkoraforA Scifi serial with protagonist from minority. I know the main character doesn't represents me, but it was such a relief to read a book with non-white female protagonist.

Today I would recommend Machinehood by S.B. Divya
This is a scifi book that talks about very possible future, very nicely written.
I have to say that lately I found works of diverse authors to be more interesting, easier read and more realistic.

Today I will recommend
The Bicentennial Man by Isaac Asimov
It is story about robot who had to die to be accepted by humans. It resonated with me because some humans face that every day. They can be accepted by some only as a memory or abstraction, not in reality.
BTW. Be careful when you read Asimov, he wrote those stories long time ago and it shows.

Today I will recommend a book from my country of origin by writer who won a Nobel prize.
Na Drini cuprija by Ivo Andric
It is a story about the bridge through the history told through the lives of the people that bridge touched.

For today's recommendation, another oldie.
Eaters of the Dead -- Michael Crichton.

Today, I will recommend Escape from Freedom by Erich Fromm. original title = the Fear of Freedom.
This one is quite timely book. It discussed why some people prefer autocracy over democracy.

I missed yesterday -- it was my no-social-media-day, so again two books.
1. Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond -- very plausible and logical explanation about the historical inequalities among different human groups.
2.Grendel by John Gardner -- Beowulf myth told from the POV of the monster. Fascinating twist.

Ups. I'm coming from the culture without idea of advent calendar. I missed two days. So today, I will mention 3 books.
1. Old Man's War by John Scalzi -- humorous scifi with war and politics themes it is beginning of serial and serial is all good.
2. The Giver of Stars -- Jojo Moyes -- historical fiction about librarians on horses.
3. Leviathan Wakes -- James S.A. Corey -- Scifi political thriller -- has loads different POV but overall very good.

Today I recommend "The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory" by Brian Greene
This is the book that explains latest development in physics in a very nice and acceptable way for average person. Although I have to say I was wondering while I was reading it, how will quack use string theory to sell you BS, based on today's use of Quantum.

Book advent! Today I have to give shoutout to This is how you lose time war by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43352954 the book is written in letters’ form and the whole story is cute, sweet and oh so captivating. Day 5 of my #bookadvent calendar. Ok so today's is not strictly a book, but an album of a book. Poet Dean Wilson's May concert in Hull. Great memory of a fantastic evening. Signed copies available from JE Books in Hull.
If you buy books this Christmas, try to use independents where possible, they'll always go out of their way to help you. My favourites are JE Books in Hull and the Barnsley Book Vault. Other stores are available ;)

Day 1 of my #bookadvent calendar. The 24 books, I have all read during the past 12 months. All highly recommended. Today's is a football fiction, really funny and a bit of a Billy's Boots feel to it.
