  1. "Context is key. And something that has been deliberately ignored and twisted, by some incredibly bad faith actors, looking for an excuse to punch down. On someone who represents something they don't agree with."

Given the context Hayden Donnell shared on Midweek MediaWatch, I agree with Doyle that this is exactly what happened. This kind of character assassination is always gross, whoever it's directed against.

  2. "Posie Parker should not be allowed into Aotearoa. In letting her enter, the minister has chosen to allow hateful anti-trans rhetoric into Aotearoa. That is unacceptable."

I have zero time for attention-seeking concern trolls like Parker. But if we allow one government the power to prevent an anti-trans speaker from visiting, a future government can use that same power to ban trans rights speakers from visiting. To me, *that* is unacceptable.

  3. "When we dump pollution into our oceans and scrape its precious life from the bed, when we carve open our lands and fill them with waste, when we explode and extract from our ancestral mountains, poison our rivers, decimate our forests, we are not just killing the Earth. We are not just devastating our living systems, our primordial mother, Papatūānuku.

    We are destroying ourselves."

  4. "If my pronouns confuse you, here's a tip; just use my name. And if the way I dress causes you concern, I say to you; be more concerned by the contents of my mind, than that of my wardrobe."

I like the cut of your jib!

(Loving that I found this video on #PeerTube!)

Edit: Isn't is about time we stopped calling an MP's first speech to the House a "Maiden" speech/ statement?
