  1. Uuuugh, why do so many of the apps that have iPad versions just…not know how to optimize for iPad? I’ve been spoiled by #TootApp and by #tusker having really good iPad versions, that take advantage of having all that screen space. #Tooot, like #Mastoot and #tootoise, just have the same layout as the phone apps, just spread out. It makes me sad. #AppTryOut

  2. #tootoise has potential, and I think once they focus a little more on function over form, it could be good. I like the character count, that it pops up hashtags you can tap to add, the floating post button, stuff like that. But accessibility matters. #AppTryOut

  3. Yeah, I’m calling off my test of #tootoise. I’m sure I could get used to the little quirks, but I can’t recommend an app that doesn’t have functionality for what on Mastodon is a basic courtesy - alt text for images. It’s not really a thing on the Jp side of Mastodon, so I get why they didn’t add it, but it is on the English side. I’m switching back to #tusker, since it updated last night. #AppTryOut

  4. Oh wait, nope. #tootoise doesn’t have a way to add an image description?! Ok, yeah, no. You can preview the image, which is great yesterday after Mastoot, but you can’t add alt text. BOO.

I might not last the full day with this app, y’all. #AppTryOut

  5. I’ve just started using #tootoise and, while the icons are cute, this uses so stripped down of features I’m gonna have a hard time using it all day. It’s not very intuitive to use, either. #AppTryOut

  6. Oooh, just saw that #tootoise has updated, and one of the updates is to give a larger font size option. I swear to god, the default font size on there was microscopic, so I’m glad for that! That might be the app I use all day tomorrow. #AppTryOut
