Ooo, the #AnalogueDuo has a jailbreak now. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks promising. Lets you override the #Analogue CD BIOS with image files too, which is handy for at least one specific game (Juuouki/Altered Beast). #RetroGames #RetroGaming #PCEngine #TurboGrafx #Duo

Reviews of this #AnalogueDuo have been doing the rounds and I want one as it plays all Turbo, #PCEngine and #Supergrafix titles. Problem is I don’t own any games but I’d still love to own one.

If you have an #AnalogueDuo, this is the optical drive inside the console per Sam Machkovech: the LG GS40N. I grabbed one from a local computer retailer as a backup, since the only moving part in the console and I assume LG won't make them forever. #PCEngine #retrogaming

I got a surprise #PCEngine package from Japan, a week earlier than I expected. Advanced Variable Geo is a fun fighter where all the characters are family restaurant waitresses. Princess Minerva is a fun little RPG with massive cutscene desync issues on the #AnalogueDuo. Nobunaga no Yabou Zenkoku is a classic strategy game. Ryuuko no Ken (Art of Fighting) plays pretty well, but the #Analogue Duo can't change resolution as fast as real hardware, which is how the PC Engine fakes (pretty well) the Neo-Geo zoom effect.
I'm pretty sure I own more PC Engine games now than all other console games I've had in my life combined (physical releases only). #retrogames #retrogaming

After a week of two-day shipping and some light cajoling emails, my #AnalogueDuo arrived today.
It really is a nice piece of kit. I tried out Parodius, Fighting Street, Macross 2036, Garou Densetsu Special, and ran through Street Fighter II' to the end with Ken. Everything worked well with a couple of different 8BitDo controllers (Arcade Stick and SN30 Pro+), but AnalogueOS badly needs button remapping for 6-button controllers. HuCard audio volume is significantly lower than CD games. The JPN version of the console appears less yellow than a lot of shots I saw in the My Life in Gaming video, but also not as blue as my attached photo. It's very nearly white, and that's fine.
It's too bad #Analogue can be such a pain to deal with. But that bad taste will pass, and I'll have my #PCEngine games to play for quite a while. #retrogames #retrogaming

Bad news for all us weirdos who own five #PCEngine / #TG16 Mini controllers and the USB Multi Tap: So far, I cannot get any pads through the tap to work on the #AnalogueDuo—which sucks given I have zero legit controllers.
Was holding out hope I'd be in luck, but guess not.
As a plus, this may be the most pro-looking hardware from #Analogue yet. It really captures the spirit of the OG consoles, versus the Super Nt and Mega Sg that were more generic designs inspired by the originals.

I was looking at the specs of the #analogueduo (the #pcengine console from the creators of the #analoguepocket)…
From what I understand it doesn’t have a spare #FPGA chip so… there won’t be any core development. Am I reading that right?
