So I'm grading the last assignment of the term and still flagging kids for cheating.
Sigh.
I so do not have time for this.

I don’t see why I should have to grade all these assignments, just because I’m the one who created them, assigned them, distributed them, and insisted that students complete them. 🙄 so unfair!

Happy first ✨day of class✨ (and all the questions, concerns and panic that come with that) to all who celebrate

So… at my university Moodle‘s down, but apparently before it died it sent out emails to my students saying that their assignments are overdue. So, lots of emails to me today 😂😂🫣

Today a #nonbinary grad #student told me I’m the first visible nonbinary #teacher they’ve ever had, and that they’re so happy to be in my class

2nd week of the semester (remote, async program).
Went back and watched the intro video I made.
I guess i was feeling 🌶️ , cause I said:
“I don’t assign group work, and I don’t assign busy work. I take this course seriously and I want to see that you do as well. I justify the readings I assign and I encourage you to hold other instructors to similar standards if this is important to you”

When, as an #instructor, I’m #grading and feel the need to write “this is a very interesting approach to this assignment,” I really don’t mean it as a compliment

Being an adjunct is so weird, my semester started this week and to date the only employee I’ve had a personal interaction with was the super helpful woman who certified my I-9.
No one has talked to me about the department and its mission, about the student body, about the course. No one made sure I could access canvas or zoom. No one checked my syllabus. Did I show up on the first day of class??? No one except the students has any idea.

no, YOUR juggling a comical number of classes and are getting confused about which is which

Teaching at different universities is wild. It’s a great way to learn different ways of doing things and where different strengths lie (and how to properly judge that some places just suck 😂)

Hi I gave feedback in the form of memes to my students.
Works better than stickers.
They’re graduate students.

Back to #adjunctlife tomorrow! I'm prepared in the sense that I updated my notes and everything, but Not Prepared in the sense that I reeeaaally wish I could stay at home in soft pants tomorrow instead of driving two counties over and back again.

Just received the notification that my courses I am teaching are ready for me to start setting up. Excited to be teaching the same courses for the coming year! #adjunctlife
