Oh, I missed the point that there is an exclamation mark involved, and an important number in the realm of numerology, my fault.

For sure, as there are already again so many house negros trapped into the new fashion, it's reasonable to support the request.
We out here are looking at this private VC party for like fifteen years now, and it's just embarrassing.

Can somebody please post some important sounding money request to build a POP3/IMAP protocol, set up a provider site and call it email?

What's up with the number of automated accounts that are using the bot software "Awakari", which is suspected of scraping, crawling, snooping, #awakari and which I couldn't find an entry for in our search mask just 24 hours ago, which is increasing every hour now .. ?

For those interested in the future of social media, Tom Coates on Meta's plans for integrating Threads into the Fediverse is important reading. But it's a long post, so I'm sharing a summary by the MacStories blog. This is the main take-away:

With a concept like this, the actual website need not be fedirated or decentralized, so the frontend.

Only the actual hosting of files, interaction, and records need to be. Thus, anyone could replicate it if the site goes AWOL.

Thus, I think #ActivityPup for user communication and data and then #IPFS for actual files. Using IPFS would even allow for versioning similar to #Git.

I think we are going to be just fine without "most-people" But that's a pity.

As the big centralized players mismanagement continues more will people will use the #Fediverse #ActivityPup

@73ms @andreadraghetti I agree, I have no idea why the press keeps jerking off over BlueSky when it's still a closed-off site and it's not clear at all where it will be headed. At least it's FOSS (which is nice) but it feels pointless since we already have #Mastodon which is actually working RIGHT NOW and the user base is growing FAST.

And from what I've read, BlueSky seems to be incompatible with #ActivityPup which isn't very encouraging either.

Wäre es nicht eigentlich eine gute Idee sowas wie #ebay Kleinanzeigen auf Basis von #ActivityPup nachzubauen? Der dezentrale Ansatz ist doch bestens für regionale Privatverkäufe geeignet und das Abonnieren von bestimmten Sachen auch. Nur das mit dem Umkreis müsste man noch irgendwie gut abbilden 🤔

@dean @blindscribe I do use #Flickr, and would definitely recommend it as a good alternative to Facebook (full-res originals, proper licence metadata, approximate dates, …) but I wouldn't really call it part of the #indieweb. Not yet, anyway (they don't support #ActivityPup). The most #fediverse image system is #pixelfed I think, although I've not used it so can't really say what it's like. :-) https://pixelfed.org/

After researching #ActivityPup I’m not a big fan. It has some true scaling issues. I honestly hope there will be a new W3C working group working on the fediverse, soon. No update in 3 years is no good

Is there anyone of you at the Chaos Communication Congress in Leipzig this year right after Christmas? Is there anyone interested to have a meeting there?

Just some exchange, we would need some people to moderate the event, but basically some meetup to exchange information and get to know other players in the field.
"Someone" could then register a "talk" or "meetup" for the upcoming congress, I'd say a duration of about 1.5 to 2 hours and maybe 60+ people can be expected, assuming there is many #webmasters or #developers among the visitors at the #35C3.

Any #devs and #webmaster of the following systems, or any that I might have missed that are using #ActivityPup and can communicate with the others, please comment here if you like the idea!
