  2. Picked all the winter squash today. 41 acorn squash that weighed 52 lbs / 23.5 kg. 8 butternut squash 17 lbs / 7.7 kg. Not all the acorn are probably ripe enough but they'll used up first. They were all washed and sprayed with white vinegar and sitting somewhere warm for a couple of weeks before they go off to the cold place.

  3. Bush squash update.

The butternut is within the raised bed still. The acorn 'bush' is about 15-20 feet beyond the raised bed in two directions.

  4. Some 'early' morning photos of the garden getting some sun from the East, and a photo showing the summer squash plants that are more than 3 feet tall now not counting the raised bed, and a 'bush' acorn squash that has lots of vines going in all directions.

  6. Melons and cucumbers are loving the warm weather. The acorn squash didn't really care that it was cooler for a couple of weeks.

  7. Today's adventure will be making kimchi and figuring out what to do with my bok choy and shishito peppers.

I'm thinking of adding some of the Bok Choy to the kimchi... I've only got normal green cabbage, not Napa... so it's already bastardized-- not worried about that.

What should I do with the rest of the Bok Choy, though? My husband and I bought a bunch of heads, and since I forgot to cook him some to take to work this week, I have to figure out what to do with it. I don't particularly want to just stir fry it, but I suppose I could.

As for the shishitos... I'm not a big fan, myself... that's my husband. I gotta figure out something I can do that will hold til Friday at the very least.

FUCK. I also have a butternut squash and two acorn squash I need to figure out what to do with.

    Help?!

  8. Nothing sketchy about putting 50 lbs of squash on some "Cube Wire Storage Shelves". 🤔

I welded them together today instead of using the plastic corner clips of doom. Welding them was a pita but I know they won't come crashing down like a 5 or 6 cube high wall of them half full of big spools of cotton for weaving did once. The spools are on proper shelving now.

  9. Harvested most of the acorn squash this morning. About 50 lbs or 22.8 kg.

    Supervisor was on site.

One acorn squash for dinner that weighs 2.5 lbs, or 1.1 kg.

  11. #AcornSquash - if I plant this thing will it grow me a squash oak tree? Okay probably not, but they are a tasty squash option.

I usually cut them in half, clean out the seeds and put in some olive oil, brown sugar, garlic powder and salt.

They're the ones that look like this.
