Thousands of rare #concert recordings are landing on the #InternetArchive -- listen now
#AadamJacobs recorded more than 10,000 shows since the 1980s and is digitizing the collection before the cassettes deteriorate. "So far, about 2,500 of these tapes have been posted on the Internet Archive, including some rare gems like a Nirvana performance from 1989"
Others include artists like Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Phish, Liz Phair, Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel, and other punk groups.

Huh. Quite the collection of live recordings. Chicago Tape Guy did 40 years of recording 10,000+ concerts. Raw, early-career sets from Nirvana (their 1989 Chicago debut!), R.E.M., The Cure, Sonic Youth, Bangles, Cardigans, Tracy Chapman, and Björk. Some good and interesting listening, reasonable quality for live recordings.
