Okay so, if I had a program to programmatically import and organize 88x31 buttons, it would need at least these features:

• Ingest an index file, including some way to include other files (included files should also be able to include files)
• Output a Markdown (maybe support several exporter, for example directly HTML?)
• .well-known/button.json support
• An index will include several buttons
  • Ordering might be explicit, lazy (ideally FIFO but not enforced) or random (at generation)
• A button might be defined as:
  • A single URL pointing to a button.json file (remote or local)
  • It should be downloaded and included
  • Support for selecting a button which isn't the default one
  • Allow hotlinking
  • A button description block following a subset of the button.json format

This would allow me to define my links page as a file pointing to the different categories, as other files, which would include the different buttons.

It would be called as a "pre-hook" before hugo and would be kinda CMS-agnostic.
