There are two modes for Michael Bay: The playful mode of him having fun. This is the Bay of Bad Boys and Transformers. And a serious mode. That is the Michael Bay of films like Ambulance, Pearl Harbor and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The latter of which is his most serious film ever.

  2. I invited Benghazi hero Dave "Boon" Benton and ex-CIA Targeter Sarah "Superbad" Adams back on the show to shed light on how our government is funding the Taliban while turning a blind eye to terrorism threats. Episode drops next week.

If you've never heard of Boon and Sarah, here's a clip from their first appearance on my show:

  3. Also, my friend who saw the movie really played this movie up. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen too many stories about similar things happening internationally, whether it was the #SummerOfLove in the #USA, #Russia, the #Congo, etc., but I never found it as scary or gut wrenching as he described. A big part of this was probably the soundtracking choices, which while some people criticized, I understood they were used to make certain tense scenes bearable.

Somehow, #SoundOfFreedom and #13Hours were both harder watches then #CivilWar. So when one reviewer I watched last night said that the film was not just watchable but rewatchable, I was surprised since I hadn’t heard anyone else say that before, but I completely agree with that assessment. This movie won’t give you #PTSD unless the only news you’ve seen is of cable news from the American #MSM.

  4. It was interesting that when #13Hours came out, the #MSM was kinda against it at first because it told the story of the soldiers in #Benghazi. Now it’s known as a fun, serviceable and rewatch able action flick that also probably saved #JohnKrasinski’s career by keeping him from getting typecast after #TheOffice ended
