  1. Walking Totbri - Totnes to Brixham - but in reverse, starting from Brixham. Beautiful blue sky today & the Golden Hind museum ship - a full-size replica of Sir Francis Drake's Tudor galleon -looking majestic in Brixham harbour.

  2. Great news…the court of appeal has granted leave to the Open Spaces Society to intervene in the backpack-camping case, in support of the Authority.

  3. After my frustration yesterday at finding footpaths severed by a dual carriageway, my OH said I should listen to the album ‘The Path’ by Belbury Poly

So I did. It’s a rare thing that I do what he says I should, but I’m very glad I did in this case 😁

The track ‘Highway and Byways’ was particularly pertinent to yesterday’s escapade.

  4. One for UK #walking fedifolk..

Is anyone using the OSMaps App having trouble with it saving activity? The last two routes I walked did not save, despite me recording them, nor was there a prompt to save after I hit finish. Many thanks.

Edit: is anyone using it and not having problems? Wondering if it’s something in settings. Thanks again!

  9. From a walk around the block earlier. Hops growing on the farm shop shed and what I believe is an old artichoke gall on an oak tree in my hedge. I think galls are quite niche so happy to get an expert view!

  13. Homeward-bound from #occitanie #France. Very sad to be leaving - have had a fantastic two weeks of #walking orchid spotting, bird watching & just enjoying the outdoors & nature generally (oh & wine 🍷 drinking!). Have also met & spent time with some wonderful people - friends for life.
The adventure is not quite over though…all aboard the #NightTrain.

  14. Stepping stones across Waterhead Creek, East Portlemouth #Devon. It’s also a ford on an unmetalled road, which continues north to South Pool as this lovely #HollowWay #SlowWays

  15. Lots of these primeval-looking beasties about at the moment, zipping over hedges & up & down paths at great speed. This one was very accommodating, staying still long enough for me to take a pic.

  19. A change from my usual solo bimbling, yesterday I teamed up with a couple of fellow slowwayers to #hike a couple of #SlowWays, from #Axminster to #Colyton & then to #Honiton. Our combined forces meant we were able to ‘snail’ (verify) two routes & review an alternative option.

Great routes through beautiful #EastDevon countryside, following a good part of the #EastDevonWay, & through lovely ancient woodlands. The feel of spring in the air.

  22. Damson jam! I even managed to get most of it into the jars eventually! I feel like I’ve reached an adulting milestone (once I’d cleaned the kitchen floor, walls & counter).

It’s quite tart, but that’s how I like it…good job really!
