  1. After years of using #NetworkManager because I had no clue what a #wpa_supplicant or #iwd was, I finally switched to systemd-networkd. I don't dislike NetworkManager and I will miss the integration in GNOME Settings, but I just prefer systemd-resolved, which depends a bit on systemd-networkd for some #DNS functionality I want.

I also discovered #impala for configuring iwd. What a neat utility. And it's written in Rust, which automatically makes it even better.

  5. Convention over customization.
This is why I love projects like Keep a Changelog, Conventional Commits and Semantic Versioning. They allow for some neat processing by other tools which just wouldn't ever be possible if everyone did their own, custom thing.

  8. Me: sits there for 2 hours thinking about a problem involving vectors, and it doesn't work.

Also me: makes this simple drawing in #RNote and implements it in 1 minute.

  9. Made a big playlist with the entire soundtrack of #Evangelion and it turns out half of the songs are just very well-known classical music :blobcatthink:

Can't complain though. It fits the vibe of the rest of the music and of the show in general.

  13. Just look at this. It's beautiful. Some random implementations in #winnow. I am having lots of fun learning about parser combinators, even though I'm having trouble understanding some of the more complex and generic parts of this library.

  14. First time traveling since the summer last year, which means first time properly testing my self-hosted setup from a different country. Opening #Findroid and being able to stream my content and being able to sync data like contacts and calendar to #Radicale feels amazing. This has no right to work this well. Of course this wouldn't be possible without #Tailscale. I should start to pay for my Tailscale account, because I think they truly have a wonderful product and want to support them.

  23. now shows ads before the main video on *paid accounts*!!! When this subscription ends, it will be time to sail the seas of freedom 🏴‍☠️

I refuse to pay one more cent to them. Even if they revert their decision to show ads, them just trying is already bad enough.
