  1. After years of using because I had no clue what a or was, I finally switched to systemd-networkd. I don't dislike NetworkManager and I will miss the integration in GNOME Settings, but I just prefer systemd-resolved, which depends a bit on systemd-networkd for some functionality I want.

I also discovered for configuring iwd. What a neat utility. And it's written in Rust, which automatically makes it even better.

  2. @janvlug I just hope, that at some point, #GeoClue will add #iwd support. I don't want to give up the quick reconnect capabilities of iwd, but also would love to play with a @beacondb -based GeoClue.

Maybe I'll give #wpa_supplicant another try...

  3. For those struggling to setup a #wireless #AP on #Linux using #wpa_supplicant/#NetworkManager, wpa_supplicant 2.10+ apparently has a bug making such networks invisible when configured with #WPA2. #hostapd still works, but so does switching to #WPA3:

  4. GRRRR! Had the trouble to change the #supplicant agent from #wpa_supplicant to #idw on my new #antix #linux installation but the connection keeps falling every 3/4 minutes.
I will most probably install some other #distro on my VOL
    😞 🙁
