I haven't seen announced here in the fediverse yet, but version 0.6.0 of #sccache was just released:
https://github.com/mozilla/sccache/releases/tag/v0.6.0
sccache is a compilation-caching tool that can massively speed up your builds (and save power!) both locally and in CI. It supports both C/C++ and Rust and is very easy to use. If you're compiling a lot of stuff everyday you should definitely give it a try.

It's hard to describe how good #Ultima7 was when it came out. It had complex mechanics that you could experiment with and even abuse, so the path towards the end could get really fun and really weird. In the end that's what an #rpg should be about.
If you don't believe me just go and read the "Fear and Loathing in Forge-of-Virtue" walkthrough. An unparalleled masterpiece of glitch exploits and in-game absurdity: http://www.it-he.org/fear.php

I'm slowly teaching my kids RPGs. We've started with collective storytelling sessions using Mystical Throne Entertainment's Little Heroes. It's great even for preschoolers. Now that they know how to read and write I'm moving on to Tiny Dungeon 2E to give play a little bit more structure. Overall it's being delightful. Give them a try:

Hey #lazyverse I have a question about #Windows. Is it possible to use AVX/AVX2 instructions within a 32-bit program running on a 32-bit version of Windows 7? I couldn't find a definitive answer to this question, just hints that it might not be possible.
The context is that we've encountered an odd #Firefox crash that seems triggered by an AVX instruction (which is flagged as illegal) and only happens to 32-bit users on a 32-bit Windows 7 install.
[edit] Figured it out, thanks!

Eleven years ago I volunteered to add native #Infiniband / #RDMA support to #ZeroMQ. At the time I was working on high-performance networking and I thought it was a nice challenge... but shortly afterwards I landed my job at @mozilla and never finished it.
Since then I've been contacted multiple times by people who wished to finish my work but none succeeded. Last time was yesterday. Maybe I should give it a spin again: https://zeromq-dev.zeromq.narkive.com/a3hbU2H1/contributing-native-infiniband-rdma-support-to-0mq
