@brave the appropriate alternative class of open technologies is #digitalProvenance and I don't get why everyone in #privsec isn't working hard on it.

@delta having *the same app* bridge people on existing email infra to the #privsec crowd has always been the biggest strength I appreciated Delta Chat for. forking, dropping legacy SMTP, or any such abandonment of that bridge would turn Delta Chat into just another chat protocol in my eye. if I'm going to push people to adopt secure messaging, Signal would always be the easier sell.

@bytebro @Alice what platform strategy neglects in their quest for #networkEffect is that with enshittification, when people are on the network *entirely* for the network effect, their participation reciprocates the #enshittification.
People feign sincerity, quality, vulnerability, and interdependence, because they don't really want it. Not from #LinkedIn.

If #fedi instances, or accounts on instances, come and go frequently in alpha software, would that kind of churn cause problems with other instances on the #Fediverse? What is the #fediquette for #fediDev?

I am looking for #StudyBuddies as I learn about #GenerativeAI and Python. Is anyone else learning? My learning journey is: I'm am basically leaving back end JVM work and learning about pytorch and hugging face via this Generative AI nano degree on #Udacity, and also linear algebra and vector databases. I'm pretty fresh to python etc, but eventually I want to start doing some generative geometry for 3D graphics, so that's what I'm working towards. Please respond!

@MarkDW anyone offering a service to install an open mod on your choice of device?
Customer pays for the device, shipping delivers to the installation service office. Installation service installs customer choice of Android mod, repackages, ships to customer with a single flat-rate service fee.
For this, I wish. #businessConcept

#businessConcept mobile #food co-op as-a-service.
Customer: a neighborhood or district.
Product: a physical truck, its maintenance, its driver, wholesale channels for food sourcing, and containers for organizing purchased food.
Tag Line: "Your community has a food co-op now."Sell to local governmental organizations. School PTAs, retirement communities, HOAs, maybe even hotels and business parks. Anywhere there are multiple kitchens in proximity.

Thinking again about #SemanticCurrency, my qualitative complement to quantitative scarcity-based measures of wealth.
The value of semantic currency emerges from the *meaning* of a service rendered, an alternative abstraction to a *number* of a scarce token like bitcoin, dollarbucks, or gold.
Dollarbucks enable economics to scale up so that we don't each have to track a billion relationships, but rather can track a number: our account balance.
Semantic currency would, too, but differently.
-
these four fields are ALL THAT IS NECESSARY to kick capitalism.
capitalism is scarcity mediated by currency. That's it.
#semanticCurrency is not scarce. it is "minted" (though no "mint" is involved) by writing a record of the event.
SC value is established by _semantics_. The _meaning_ of who, why, and how. the story is relatable. people understand. it is recorded so the value flow may be tracked. it is kept so debt may be *not repayed* but, yes, reciprocated.

start a business,
get into supportive networks of people,

support the oligopoly less,
have *real* security instead of forever trying to keep the balance of an account high enough. -

Do any of the #FirefoxForks have an alternative to firefox sync?
It's kinda pointless to use a firefox fork, but still have your data on Mozilla's servers, n'est-ce pas? :/

#DigitalProvenance could potentiate a market for physical cartridges for game and app distribution on open systems (maybe SteamDeck) without necessitating a central (enshittified) platform such as Google or Nintendo (or Steam).

@sundaymidnight @brave Instead of attempting to detect AI-generated media, or rely on your ability to recognize it when you see it, #digitalProvenance provides individuals a way to recognize authentic content when it is “born with” cryptographically signed history.
It is like key pair cryptography (the tech that enables secure communications online) but with a little more conscious effort from artists and developers up front.
Android could recognize these metadata, without mandating a registry.
