Navigating the Void: Why Nigeria Needs a Corporate Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) Framework
In a standard DPA regime, a company that self-reports and cooperates can avoid the "corporate death penalty" of a criminal conviction. In Nigeria, we are currently forced to rely on the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015. While the ACJA provides for Plea Bargaining, it is a fundamentally different animal from a DPA: -

@AFWorld steping beyond rhetorical contrasts, I think focusing too much on mediocracy / meritocracy risks missing the point.
I like meritocracy — I’ve seen the difference.
In Russia in 2025, it coexists with mediocracy: in the military sphere, it’s meritocracy (corrupt officials are jailed), while in the civilian realm, everything is still distributed through connections or loyalty.
That’s why I see both #meritocracy and #mediocracy as tools of social reinforcement.
